Health Educator

The role of the health educator is to inform and promote the maintainance  healthy practices and lifestyles. Health educators encourage personal and collective responsibility for achieving a maximum level of health and for preventing disease from occurring. Some health educator responsibilities include assessment of health, educational needs and interest of specific groups;  planning, implementing and evaluating health education activities and programs and coordinating community resources for programming purposes. Health educators work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, non-profit organizations, government, doctors' offices, private business and colleges.
